Shot in the winter of 2024 in an East Harlem apartment I shot this series of portraits with model Justin Price
Premise
The shoot follows a young man trying to past the time in his isolated New York City apartment, perhaps this is the first time in a while that he has truly been alone in his apartment to simmer in his thoughts and explore his emotions.
Execution
In this shoot I really wanted to play around with lighinting. More specifically volumetric lighting. Utilizing spotlights, fog machines and marajuana smoke I wanted to create an atmosphere that was both ethereal, gritty, blissful but pardoxically welcoming.
